Bill Jacobs Kia, your premiere Kia dealership in Joliet, would like to report that Kia is set to launch a small electric vehicle by year’s end. It is set to be the first EV, electronic vehicle, released in a slew of soon to be released EVs from Korean car manufacturers. Though their release is set for sometime later this year it is still up in the air if their presence will be felt in the United States.
It is believed that Kia will produce 2,000 EVs for the year 2012. Hyundai Motor Group, Kia’s parent company, has also produced a small group of BlueOn Hyundai i10 EVs. It is believed that the ongoing operation in South Korea, will help aid with the new Kia EV through prior lessons learned that will be applied towards the new Kia.
This new Kia EV is believed to spark Hyundai Motor Group’s first real shove into the electric vehicle segment. Although both domestic and Japanese car manufacturers have already started production of electric vehicles, and have brought several to the market already, Hyundai and Kia have weathered the storm so to speak with green vehicles such as the Hyundai Sonata Hybrid and Kia Optima Hybrid, which recently won a spot into the Guinness Book of World Records.
